Did you know that we can be the biggest facilitators in denying our blessings? Are you aware that our human logic, bound by this earth, can also be a major inhibitor to what God can do in our circumstances? Do we really understand what we inherit when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior? We will, briefly, examine our inheritance in Christ, and how our actions can delay or deny the physical manifestations of all the blessings our Jesus has stored up for us.
Firstly, the most important benefit of the cross, is salvation for those who believe in Him. This salvation means, we are saved from eternal damnation. His death and resurrection has many benefits, but primarily it is the saving of our souls and our life after this earthly death that we should be most thankful for. What most believers need to understand as well, is the tremendous blessings stored up for an inheritance as His sons and daughters. The key word here is inheritance. Many believers think that blessings are earned. Yes we have to try to live a life of continued repentance and sensitivity to the voice of the Holy Spirit (Another tremendously important gift after the resurrection), but to inherit takes no work. The only ‘work’ necessary for our inheritance of our blessings is the work of continual faith. Unbelief, is a major delayer and denier of your blessing beloved.
How are we accessories in the delaying and denial of the manifestations of our inheritance on earth? Our unbelief and our Words. The moment we accepted Christ, we were put down on a will for an inheritance. Our tongue, and belief of anything that is contrary to who God says we are can delay and deny our blessings. In order to profit from our inheritance, we need to have faith in the fact that if we abide in Christ, He will meet and surpass every need. Hebrews 4:2 states “ For unto us was the gospel preached as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.” We can only profit and possess our possessions when we abide in belief. You are already surrounded by blessings. Your belief is what will keep you there until they are manifested. Healing in particular is more often than not prevented by human logic. We trust doctors reports more than God's reports. He made our body, but we go elsewhere for healing. How can this be so? By His stripes we are healed. Healed; the past tense of heal. Do you believe that you are already healed? I know you still feel pain in whatever area is giving you trouble. Logically, this must mean you are not healed right? See how logic can prevent God's healing for you? Believe you are healed. Stand on His Word, which is the truth about you and your body. Say "By His stripes I am healed!" Believe it. Regardless of the pain. Stand on God's Word, do not be moved. You will benefit from the Word when you mix it with faith.
The enemy knows the key to preventing your blessings is to put fear in your heart, the wrong thoughts in your head and eventually words from your mouth that are contrary to what God says about you. It’s important to know that you are who God says you are. The enemy plants lies in our heads that causes us to question the truth. Once your words are contrary to God’s, your inheritance is put on hold. Deuteronomy 7:17 says “ If thou shalt say in thine heart, These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them?” You can’t have the blessings God intends for you if you believe in your heart that you won’t have them. To possess you possessions let your heart and tongue be aligned with the Word of God. The battle ground is in your mind. The enemy will bombard you with contrary thoughts. These thoughts may even appear to be your own. It is important to discern your own thoughts. The Holy Spirit will not put thoughts in your head that scare you or belittle you. If you are afraid or feel unworthy, understand that this source is not God. Jeremiah 29:11 says “ For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Beloved do not let your tongue delay and deny your inheritance. Be at peace with your position in Christ. Hold every thought captive. Counter negative thoughts planted by the enemy with scripture, as this is the truth about you. Follow these simple steps when bombarded with negative thoughts and opinions about your self. The repetition of the Word is important as you will know God’s thoughts and plans toward you by heart. Once your heart and mind is aligned, you can abide in your inheritance in peace. When the negative thoughts come, and they will, you will have ammo needed to maintain your position in Christ.
